Summary :
The SAP Note addresses a critical error identified as PXA_DESTROYED, found in systems operating under OSF/1 or DEC UNIX specifically on Alpha processors. This error leads to system crashes and is only observable on Alpha hardware configurations. The cause of the issue lies in the 32-bit memory granularity of Alpha machines, which necessitates entire 32-bit chunks to be processed, thereby causing erroneous writes to adjacent bits. This bug has been resolved starting from version 3.1H, with a patch available for version 3.1G, and it is advised for users with earlier versions to deploy the 3.1G kernel for compatibility and immediate resolution.
