SAP Note 20097 - SE30: Runtime measurement error (Multi-processor machine), O

Component : Syntax, Compiler, Runtime - Basis Components

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/20097 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
The SAP Note addresses a "runtime measurement error" and an "OVERFLOW runtime error" during analysis with ABAP transaction codes SE30 or ATRA on multi-processor systems. Errors are caused by unsynchronized processor clocks or outdated kernel versions. Solutions include re-measurement with no processor swap or using single-processor machines/platforms specified (AS/400, IBM AIX, SNI SINIX, SUN SUN-OS, Windows NT) for more reliable results. From Release 4.5A, adjusting measuring accuracy via Runtime analysis settings is recommended for high accuracy needs, or otherwise, ignoring the errors since the displayed data remains correct.

Key words :
statement set run time clock resolution, runtime analysis -> settings -> measuring accuracy, sun-os     - windows nt, high time resolution, overflow runtime error, negative time readings, runtime measurement error, low   measuring accuracy, multi-processor machine, single-processor machine
