Summary :
In SAP Cost Object Controlling, discrepancies in settlement can occur if a cost object, initially configured as the top cost object and having settlements posted to a price difference account, undergoes reconfiguration of its hierarchical position. Such reconfiguration, typically involving the addition of a new top cost object above the existing one, can prevent actual costs from settling back to the revised top object. SAP documentation states that once a cost object has been settled with actual costs, it shouldn't be reassigned as a non-top object. Consequently, any reversed settlements after such a reassignment will lead to incorrect settlements. T-codes related to this issue include KK88 and KK89.
