Executing join queries across distributed rowstore and columnstore tables in SAP HANA DB versions 34 to 39 may lead to errors due to a bug, resulting in failure to create temporary indexes and lock acquisitions. Errors such as "column store error: temp index create error" and inability to acquire index lock are symptomatic. The issue can be resolved by either moving all involved tables to the master node or updating to SAP HANA DB Revision 40 or later.
