Summary :
This SAP Note discusses support for multiple SAP HANA DBMSs (SIDs) on a single hardware unit, either as a single node or in a scale-out system. It highlights the distinction between Multi-SID and multitenant database containers (MDC). While MDC, introduced in SPS09, involves multiple tenant databases under a single SID, Multi-SID involves multiple SIDs on one hardware. Support for Multi-SID configurations is available only for non-production environments. Special considerations are required for sizing, performance, and troubleshooting in Multi-SID deployments. SAP lifecycle management tools support the deployment of additional databases on existing hardware.
