SAP Note 1673399 - PI Upgrade: No RFC authorization for user PIDIRUSER

Component : CTC Templates for PI configuration - Central technical configuration

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1673399 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
After an upgrade to PI 7.3, users may encounter a CPA Cache refresh failure with an error indicating lack of RFC authorization for 'PIDIRUSER'. This issue has been traced back to modified permissions stemming from SAP note 1232259, necessitating a logical destination on the Integration Server client post-upgrade. To resolve, create a service user 'PICACHEUSER' in SU01, assigning roles such as SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_PI_CFG_SRV. Additionally, establish an ABAP connection "SAPXICACHE" in SM59. Implementing Support Packages for LMCFG component auto-creates the required destination, complemented by running the CTC Upgrade Wizard.
