SAP Note 1643080 - SYB: Database connect information for Sybase ASE

Component : Sybase ASE Database Platform -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1643080 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
This SAP Note addresses issues with database connectivity due to inaccessible connection information stored in the Secure Storage in File System of AS ABAP. The problem arises for systems using Sybase ASE as the underlying database and having a SAP kernel version of 7.20 EXT with a patch level of 100 or above. To resolve this, configure the environment variable and profile parameter as outlined in detailed steps in SAP Note 1639578. The configuration involves setting the profile parameter ‘rsdb/ssfs_connect’ to 1 and the environment variable ‘rsdb_ssfs_connect’ to 1 for adm. These settings are critical post the updates to DBSL patch level 113, where the secure storage functionality was removed from DBSL and integrated into the kernel.

Key words :
sap standalone tools environment variable rsdb_ssfs_connect, /usr/sap/<sid>/<inst>/work, db connect user/password, installation/system copy procedure, profile parameter rsdb/ssfs_connect, set profile parameter, -database-specific parts, minimum patch level, earlier patch level, 20 ext patch level 100
