Summary :
In SAP environments, users with Firefighter IDs facing the unavailability of the Generic Object Services (GOS) icon in certain transactions such as CJ20N, IW23, or VL03N can attribute this issue to the configuration type of the Firefighter ID, which is set as 'Service'. This type limits the visibility of the GOS icon to enhance performance. Historically, the 'Service' type was recommended as passwords do not expire; however, updates in SAP Note #1319031 and SPM versions have modified these parameters. Users are advised to alter Firefighter IDs to 'Dialog' type, which supports visible GOS icons without affecting password policies. For login restrictions via SAP GUI, reference SAP snote 992200.
