Summary :
This SAP Note details the restoration process for SAP databases that are fully or partially defective, either due to issues in the restoration process from multiple tape drives or different target directories. From R/3 Release 3.0, the BRRESTORE tool will be included for simplified DB restoration. Prior, CPIO was manually utilized. BRRESTORE allows efficient restoration of complete databases or selected components. Users can download the tool via FTP from sapserv3, following specific directory and system parameters. Post-download, operational prerequisites include setting permissions and adding necessary parameters in the Oracle profile. Note highlights compatibility limitations with other tools until version 3.0.
