Summary :
When activating external tax systems such as Taxware, Sabrix, or Vertex and creating a purchase order in SAP with the delivery destination outside the USA (despite the company code being assigned to the USA), there may be inconsistencies in the length of the tax jurisdiction code derived from the external system. In SAP Customizing settings, if the tax code length doesn't match the US tax code length, error message 06 260 is triggered. This issue arises due to a program error, especially when shipping occurs between different countries, such as from Canada to the USA. SAP Support Packages for Releases 4.7 through 6.05 address this issue. For earlier resolutions, correction instructions are available within the note. Additionally, using BAdI ME_TAX_FROM_ADDRESS allows customization for cross-border tax scenarios.
