SAP Note 1551504 - Cleaning up Oracle audit files

Component : Oracle -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1551504 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
Post database upgrade to Oracle 11.2.0.X from 10.2, numerous audit files are generated in /oracle//saptrace/audit directory, impacting Unix/Linux systems with Oracle Database Release 11.2 onward. The 'audit_file_dest' location change necessitates explicit setting in SAP systems to avoid default Oracle Home usage (SAP Note 1431798). Audit files proliferate from automatic SYSDBA login routines and BR*Tools operations, and can be managed by parameter tweaks or utilizing non-SYSDBA users. Regular cleanup using 'brconnect' and adjusting file retention settings (cleanup_ora_trace) is recommended to maintain system efficiency.
