Summary :
This SAP Note provides guidelines for configuring Oracle 11.2 ccNUMA optimization on HP-UX ccNUMA systems. Key prerequisites include Oracle version 11.2, HP-UX version 11.31 or higher, and HP-UX servers set up in NUMA mode across multiple hardware cells like those found in HP Superdome environments. Oracle 11.2 has in-built support for NUMA, which can enhance performance on ccNUMA architectures. However, assessing performance with and without NUMA optimizations is advised before production implementation. The NUMA setting in Oracle is determined by the "_enable_NUMA_support" parameter. Links to relevant HP white papers and Metalink documents are provided for detailed guidance on Oracle and NUMA configurations with HP-UX systems.
