Summary :
This SAP Note outlines the deactivation of the &SAP_EDIT function code in transaction SE16N, which previously enabled transactions to switch to change mode. The function was initially intended for use by SAP Support experts in urgent customer scenarios, necessitating high-level developer authorization. However, due to unauthorized usage facilitated by its unintended widespread knowledge, security issues emerged. Users not meant to have such permissions executed the function, compromising authorization concepts. Implementation of this note will disable &SAP_EDIT entirely. Updates reflecting these changes are included in Release 600, Support Package 17, and 18.
