SAP Note 1387739 - Out of memory in ACT_UPG phase during EHP installation

Component : README: Upgrade Supplements -

Summary :
During the ACT_UPG phase of EHP installation via SAP Software Update Manager (SUM), out-of-memory errors can occur, mainly due to the mass-activation of ABAP dictionary objects depending on the package composition. To resolve this, adjusting the shadow system's memory parameters, such as abapp/heap_area_total and ztta/roll_area, is usually effective. Adjustments can be made by stopping the shadow system, modifying the instance profile parameters, and restarting. It is advisable to conduct these changes with reference to SAP Notes 146289, 88416, and 941735 for guideline values. Additionally, a memory-optimized activator mode is available but may extend activation times.
