SAP Note 1368389 - Re-activating legacy RFC-communication for CCMS Agents

Component : Monitoring -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1368389 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
Systems running on Netweaver Kernel 7.10 or higher, or sapstartsrv ver. 7.10+, which utilize a Web-Service enabled CCMS API, cannot connect to a Central System with SAP_BASIS ver. 7.0 or below that supports only RFC API. This discrepancy arises because from SAP_BASIS 7.01 upwards, and in line with Netweaver Kernel 7.10 and onwards, SAP transitioned the communication protocol from RFC to Web-Service APIs. Central Systems adhering to SAP_BASIS ver. 7.01+ can still process both Web-Service and RFC APIs, allowing flexibility in communication. The solution to compatibility issues involves disabling the Web-Service CCMS API in the monitored system and reverting to the legacy RFC method, explained through detailed steps in the note. This ensures functionality without impacting the performance or capabilities of the CCMS.
