SAP Note 12946 - Put still running, logon not possible

Component : Change and Transport System -

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/12946 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
In the SAP R/3 System, users may encounter the message 'Put is still running, logon not possible' when attempting to log in, except for users DDIC and SAP*. The key issue revolves around a 'tp put' call—it could be that it is currently running or it terminated unexpectedly. During a 'tp put' call, user logon is blocked for security reasons. To release the lock, navigate to the 'bin' directory of the transport directory and execute the command 'tp unlocksys '. Administrators should verify the system's alterability using Transaction STME or SE03 and reset if required. Caution is advised to avoid potential system damage.

Key words :
additional key words tr900, call tp unlocksys <sid>, 'tp put' call terminated, 'tp locksys <sid>', 'tp put' call, unlock 'tp' call, operating system level, put directory, system alterability, message appears
