Summary :
In SAP environments, a discovered issue relates to incorrect scheduling when performing backwards scheduling across year boundaries. Specifically, the duration of time within the current year is not deducted from the total scheduling duration, leading to an inaccurate project timeline. This bug was identified to provoke scheduling errors, potentially extending into infinite loops, when the time required exceeds the available duration within a year. SAP identifies this primarily as a programming error, with a simple one-line correction needing implementation in version 4.6A or through an advanced correction patch.
