SAP Note 1138440 - Non-Gregorian date formats in the SAP system

Component : Internationalization (I18N) -

Summary :
This SAP note addresses the implementation and support issues related to using non-Gregorian calendars such as the Islamic (Hijri), Farsi (Persian), and Japanese Emperor calendars in SAP systems. Despite the external display flexibility, the internal date storage retains the Gregorian format, which might not be visible on UIs. Key limitations include the conversion applicability only to complete dates in certain UI elements like Dynpros and Smart Forms, with partial dates and fiscal years remaining unconverted unless specifically configured. SAP advises caution as there may be operational discrepancies in applications when user date formats are set to these non-Gregorian calendars.
