SAP Note 1120682 - Missing ICF node for Web Dynpro application

Component : Web Dynpro Tools - ABAP - Web Dynpro ABAP

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1120682 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
When executing a Web Dynpro application, if an error indicating the non-existence of the ICF service node "/sap/bc/webdynpro/" appears, it generally stems from the service not being automatically created during the Web Dynpro application setup in SE80. This issue can arise due to inadequate permissions linked to the S_ICF_ADM authorization object. To rectify, manually configure the ICF service using transaction SICF — given the application's name does not exceed 15 characters. Should issues persist, post-upgrade corrections recommended from SAP_BASIS 700, Support Package 15, or 710, Support Package 05, should be applied.
