After a system copy or an upgrade, configuring the transport domain using transaction STMS may fail in SAP systems, particularly post-upgrade to Release 7.10. The error message "Could not create user TMSADM" (XT 006) is displayed, halting the setup process. This issue arises because the user TMSADM lacks a "Last name", a requirement enforced from SAP Release 7.10 and onwards. To resolve this error, in transaction SU01, you either need to add any "Last name" to the TMSADM user or remove the user entirely. An official remedy is available with the Support Package 2 for SAP_BASIS 7.10, which, once applied, should prevent the issue from recurring.
