Summary :
In SAP transaction SM51, processes from other servers are not displayed due to errors in establishing CPIC connections, particularly among R/3 servers within the same system. The issue arises when servers log on to the message server with different names from those returned by the "hostname" command, often due to multiple network cards. This discrepancy prevents the gateway from correctly assigning servers, leading to connection timeouts. From Release 2.1K, the system attempts to account for all hostnames using "netstat" in UNIX or checking the NT Registry. Additionally, as of Release 3.1F, the parameter gw/alternative_hostnames can be used.
