Summary :
In the SPAD transaction of SAP systems, users face difficulty in selecting appropriate device types for printers during output device configuration. To streamline this process, SAP introduced a wizard in version 6.20 and above, guiding decisions on device types based on user-provided information. Support packages for various releases, such as SAP_BASIS 6.20 through 7.10, include this wizard. A supplementary manual, selectdevtype_wizard.pdf, also assists in operational guidance. Additional XML datasets for database table updates are available to maintain compatibility with newly introduced printers. Netweaver Enhancement Packages have introduced advanced features, including device type uploading in later versions.
