Summary :
The SAP NetWeaver 2004 and 2004s releases include the message overview function in message monitoring which is, by default, inactive. This function becomes available from Support Package 20 for NetWeaver 2004 and Support Package 12 for 2004s and needs activation. Users must activate data collection for both Java Adapter Engine and ABPU Integration Engine. Specific instructions involve modifying various service property values and executing ABAP programs via transaction SE38. Additionally, the Runtime Workbench must be configured to display this newly active function by creating the 'com.sap.aii.rwb.showmessageoverview' parameter. Automatic activation post upgrades with appropriate support packages are also supported.
