Summary :
For SAP systems using ABAP AS 7.00 (Netweaver 2004s) with Oracle databases, the DBA Cockpit tool (transaction “dbacockpit”), available from Basis SP12, becomes standard in release 7.10 and higher. A prerequisite Oracle package, previously optional, is now mandatory. This note details activation procedures and additional Oracle packages for optional DBA Cockpit functionalities. If licensed through SAP, no further action is needed. Direct Oracle licensees must verify inclusion of the necessary "Diagnostic Package". Remote systems without this package have restricted DBA Cockpit functionalities until the relevant license status is confirmed.
