SAP Note addresses an issue where custom fields added to Article Master Data tables (MARA, MARC, etc.) through transaction WRFMGROUP don’t post changes to the database when using transaction WRFMASSMAT. The solution requires implementing BAdIs WRF_MAT_MAINTAINDATA for updating core material master data and ARTMAS_BAPI_EXTEND for material-BAPI inbound processing. These BAdIs help in integrating customer-defined fields into various SAP tables using extension structures specified within Class CL_MATERIAL_MAINTAINDATA_ALE. Additionally, set up in table T130F and creation of various customer-defined structures are necessary to facilitate the integration and proper functioning of these fields across systems. Alternatives include using SAP Enhancement MGV00003 for similar outcomes.
