Summary :
This SAP Note addresses configuring an RFC-server program in high availability (HA) environments running SAP NetWeaver '04 (6.40), SAP NetWeaver 7.0, or 7.1 in failover clusters with only ASCS instances. Previously, the central instance gateway facilitated external RFC-servers, but post-ABAP central services (ASCS) introduction, the standalone gateway became necessary. Solutions include detailed steps for adding and configuring a standalone gateway using the ASCS instance profile on both Windows and UNIX systems. Key changes involve updating the gateway entry in the instance start profile and ensuring gateway port definitions are maintained. Restarting the replication servers activates the updates.
