Diagnosis
This item is a time or service-related revenue recognition item. Inthis case there is a contradiction between the target and source itemsfor revenue recognition.
For example, both the contract and its release orders or deliverieshave been indicated as billing-relevant for a service-related revenuerecognition and they both, therefore, update revenue recognition.However, only the contract should do this and therefore only thecontract should be indicated as billing-relevant.

System Response
Revenue recognition rules have been defined in the system but there isno valid rule for this combination of source and target items. If thismessage appears when you create a contract, the system saves thecontract but without the correct revenue recognition item.

Procedure
Check copying control in Customizing for the source to the targetdocument. Ensure that the required revenue recognition process worksfor both items. In other words:
Are the document types and item categories correctly maintained?
Have the correct revenue recognition categories been assigned to theitem categories?
If an error has occured and revenue recognition should not take placeat all, change the revenue recognition category for the item, or changethe item category. Otherwise, delete the item or leave the transaction.
