Diagnosis
The system cannot determine a cost estimate which the system uses toproposes the backflushed activity quantities.
There are several causes for this problem.
You define the cost estimate the system is to use to propose theactivity quantities in repetitive manufacturing, in the controlparameters of the repetitive manufacturing profile.

Backflush on the basis of the preliminary costing - product costcollector
If you have defined, for example, that the backflush is to be carriedout on the basis of apreliminmary costing for aproduct cost collector,you must also have created a preliminary costing for the costcollector.
Note that you cannot create a preliminary costing for a product costcollector with thecontrolling level "productcost plant/planning plant".

Backflush on the basis of the standard cost estimate - material
You must have created astandard cost estimate forthe material.
It must be a cost estimatewith quantity structure. This standard cost estimate must be flaggedand released.
If a material is to be produced in repetitive manufacturing, you mustset the indicator Repetitive mfg in the MRP view ofthe material master record before you create the standard cost estimatefor the material. The system only updates the costs per operation inrepetitive manufacturing if you have set this indicator.

Procedure
In the repetitive manufacturing profile, check what option the systemis to use to propose the activity quantities. It may make sense tochange the existing setting if, for example, you have defined that thebackflush is to be carried out on the basis of the standard costestimate but you actually work with a generic cost collector.
Check whether a preliminary costing for the cost collector or a flaggedand released standard cost estimate for the material exists. To dothis, branch to the information system of Product Cost Controlling.
Set the indicator repetitive mfg in the material master record.
If necessary, create the missing cost estimate.
To create a standard cost estimate for the material, branch to the menuof Product Cost Planning.
To create a preliminary costing for the cost collector, branch to themenu for Periodic Product Controlling.
