Diagnosis
The system cannot find a preliminary costestimate for the product costcollector.
The system searches for the preliminary cost estimate for the productcost collector under the combination of plant / material /production process and date.
You intend to do the following on the basis of this cost estimate:

• Valuate work in process (WIP) or scrap in
accordance with the valuation variant for work in process andscrap

• Calculate production variances

System Response
The system does not perform the function.

Procedure
Check whether the desired cost estimate exists.
You do this by accessing the Product Cost Planning Information System.
If necessary, create a preliminary cost estimate for the product costcollector.
To do this, go into the change mode of the product cost collector.
Proceed
If you want to valuate work in process or scrap on the basis of adifferent cost estimate, check the valuation variant for work inprocess and scrap.
If you want to perform variance calculation using a different targetcost version, check the target cost versions.
Perform WIP calculation orvariance calculation again.
