Diagnosis
When a batch is created, the system determines its initial status fromCustomizing. In plant &V3&, the initial status of all batches isdefined as = 'unrestricted'.
For the material &V1& assigned to batch &V2&, you havedefined that an approved batch record must exist when batches of thismaterial are released. There is no such record for batch &V2&.Therefore, this batch cannot be released; that is, the batch statuscannot be changed from 'restricted' to 'unrestricted'.
Since it was assigned with the initial status 'unrestricted', the batchwas unrestricted when it was created, even though an approved batchrecord is required for this.

Procedure
To resolve this conflict, you can do the following:

• in Customizing, you can change the initial status of the batches in
plant &V3& to 'restricted'.

• if you have defined this message as a warning message in Customizing,
after confirming the message, the basic data of the batch is displayedand you can manually set the status to 'restricted'.

• If you have defined this message as an error message in Customizing,
the error is issued as a system message and the batch status is changedin the background to 'restricted'.
