Diagnosis
A variant of a generic material is to be included in the promotion. Thegeneric material is not assigned to the promotion.
A variant of a generic material can only be included in the promotionif the generic material is assigned to the promotion.

Procedure
First assign the generic material to the promotion. When you do this,all the associated variants will be assigned as items.
You can then delete any of the variants of the generic material whichare not to be included in the promotion, providing no pricing referencematerial is entered in the material master for the variant, or thevariant itself is entered as a pricing reference material.
