Title
RSCP_NLS_CHECK

Purpose
To Check locales on operating system level.
If this program detects some errors against the specified locale, thesystem would not run properly.

Integration
Following important C functions can be checked against the specifiedlocale:
mblen
mbtowc
ctype
wctype
towupper
strxfrm
wcsxfrm

Prerequisites
This is supported as of rellease 46D.

Features

Selection
There are three selections as follows:

• CHARACTERSET

This is the name of the code page which needs to be tested. This fieldis related to the "LOCALE" field
selection (see below). This means that once you select a charactersetname from the drop down menu,
the entries in the "LOCALE" field are also calculated again. All thelocale entries which are in the drop down
menu of the "LOCALE" field are always proper ones against the selectedcharacterset name. This event can
happen by pressing return key or "Sync." button on the screen afterreselecting a characterset name.

• LOG and ERROR MODES

There are two modes:
No log file + Errors
Only error messages will be created, when this program detectssomething. Normally, this mode
should be selected.
Log file + Errors
Not only error messages, but also log files will be created. If you seesome errors with
"No log file + Errors", you should try to test the locale with thismode. Perhaps you will be able to
understand the exact meaning of each error message more in detail.

• LOCALE

This is the name of the locale which needs to be tested. All theentries in the drop down menu are always
only the locales which are the same chracterset. If a locale whichbelongs to a different character set, the
proper characterset name for the locale needs to be set in the"CHARACTERSET" field (see above), first.

Activities
In most cases, all the detected errors will be removed by(re-)installing the locale. If it does not help, please create a
customer message, and set the component with "BC-ABA-NL".
