Requirements
Before initiating Magnetic Media Filing, your enterprise must meet thefollowing requirements.
You must meet the criteria described under Requirements in thedocumentation of the Year End Reporting utility.
You are required to have generated TemSe files for the selected taxyear, Tax Reporting Unit, and Year End form. These TemSe files aregenerated by the Year End Reporting utility and subsequently stored inthe Year End Reporting History Log. To access that log, select theShow run history function button in the Run parameterssection of Year End Reporting.
To generate Magnetic Media submissions using TemSe files, you arerequired to select the Produce MagMedia from TemSeoption, then the Browse TemSes function button, then the TemSefile to be used for your submission.
Once you have selected the TemSe that your system will use to generateMagnetic Media submissions, you are required to enter data, whereapplicable, in the following drop-down sections:
Transmitter data
Proprietor data
Technical contact
Accounting contact
Type of data
Relevé data
Once you have entered this data, we recommend that you save yourentries as a variant by selecting Goto -> Variants ->Save as variant... By doing so, you will eliminate the need tore-enter this data every time your enterprise executes Magnetic MediaFiling.
Finally, you are required to specify the drive to which the system willwrite Magnetic Media data, as well as the maximum capacity of the filemedium.

Output
Once you have met the requirements described above, execute MagneticMedia Filing. In response, the system will prompt you to insert amagnetic storage device in the specified drive. It will then write YearEnd data to this storage media for subsequent submission to taxauthorities. If multiple storage devices, such as diskettes, arerequired to complete your submission, then the system will prompt youto remove the first device, then enter and remove all additionaldevices, until all Year End data has been written to Magnetic Media. Also, the system will prompt you to label these devices in numericorder - for example, as Disk 1 of 4, Disk 2 of 4, and soon.
Once this process is complete, you may complete the Year End Reportingprocess by submitting the magnetic storage device(s) to the appropriatetax authority. However, if you prefer to review your Magnetic Mediasubmission before forwarding it to the tax authority, select theDisplay MagMedia file data option, then specifythe number of disks of the file set, as well as its tax year. Once youhave reviewed this data to your satisfaction, submit it to theappropriate tax authority.
