Year End Reporting, Canada
The Year End Reporting utility allows your enterprise to report the sumannual earnings of all employees to tax authorities. To this end, youcan use the utility to generate paper and magnetic media submissions ofthe following five Year End forms:
T4 - Statement of Remuneration Paid
T4A - Statement of Pension, Retirement, Annuity and OtherIncome
T4A-NR - Statement of Fees, Commissions or Other AmountsPaid
to Non-Residents for Services Rendered in Canada
Relevé 1 - Revenus d'emploi et revenus divers
Relevé 2 - Revenus de retraite et rentes

Requirements
Before initiating Year End Reporting, your enterprise must meet thefollowing requirements.
Payroll results in the reporting year must exist for all employeeswithin your personnel selection.
All wage type amounts to be reported for Year End must be assigned theappropriate values in processing class 70. Correct assignment of thesevalues will ensure that these amounts cumulate in the Tax CumulatedResults Table (TCRT) of each employee.
It is required that you perform the configuration steps found withinthe Year End Reporting Implementation Guide. To access these steps,select the following IMG path:

In order to use the Year End Reporting utility to print Year End forms,both a sufficient number of pre-printed forms and at least one laserprinter must be at the disposal of your enterprise. If your enterpriselacks either or both of these prerequisites, then you will not be ableto use the Year End Reporting utility to generate paper copies of YearEnd forms. You may, however, elect to outsource the printing process toa third party. In this case, you would submit Magnetic Media files(generated by the Magnetic Media Filing utility) to that third party.

Description
The Year End Reporting utility consists of five distinct sections,described below.
Selection
In this section, you specify personnel numbers to be used if youexecute the Perform production run parameter in test modeor if you perform "live" printing runs (outside of test mode)using the Reprint original forms or Print duplicate formsrun parameters. For additional information on these and other runparameters, refer to the explanation and links found below.
Selection criteria
In this section, you specify the tax year for which Year End Reportingis to be executed, as well as a Tax Reporting Unit(configured in the Year End Reporting IMG), if desired.
Run parameters
In this section, you specify whether or not Year End Reporting is to beexecuted in test mode. You also specify one of thefollowing five run parameters:

  • Perform production run

  • used to produce original Year End data for subsequent submission
    • Perform amendment run

    • used to produce amended Year End data for subsequent submission
      • Print original forms

      • used to print original copies of Year End forms
        • Reprint original forms

        • used to reprint original copies of Year End forms
          • Print duplicate forms

          • used to print duplicate copies of original Year End forms
            Form selection
            In this section, you specify the Year End forms for which the utilityis to generate data.
            Print selection
            In this section, you specify the copy types to be printed by theutility.

            Output
            Provided that both a sufficient number of pre-printed forms and atleast one laser printer are at your disposal, the Year End Reportingutility can be configured to print reporting data directly onto YearEnd forms. In addition, you may use the TemSe files generated by theYear End Reporting utility to produce Magnetic Media files within theMagnetic Media Filing utility. To access thatutility, select the Magnetic Media function button from theinitial screen of Year End Reporting.
