Programme SAP RNUKACP0 - IS-H: Copy Service Catalog

Description
This program makes a copy of the column values of a service catalog.
The program should be used before service catalogs are changed withother programs.
Namely, if these programs work incorrectly, you always have a copy ofthe service catalog available.
The following procedure is recommended during catalog manipulation:

  • Create a copy with the program RNUKACP0

  • Carry out the manipulations (for example, the program RNUKARE2)

  • Check the changes made. Carry out this check immediately before
  • resuming work with this catalog, that is, before you change it, extendit, or suchlike. If it should become necessary to restore the originalstatus, these changes are lost.
    • If necessary, restore the original catalog by copying in the other
    • direction (see example)
You can make the following entries on the selection screen:
      • Institution (required-entry field)

      • Copy service catalog... : original catalog

      • To catalog ... : target catalog (name of the copy)

      • Overwrite existing catalog: you must set this option explicitly if you
      • want to overwrite a catalog which possibly exists. However, you alwaysreceive a query before a catalog is overwritten.
Please note the following characteristics of the program:
The program does not copy tables NTPT and NTPK. This is not necessaryif the program is used as described above.
        • If the target catalog does not exist, the catalog type and the catalog
        • column definition are copied first.
          • If the target catalog already exists and it is to be overwritten, the
          • catalog definition is not copied. You must ensure that the catalogdefinitions are identical !
            • When copying back, that is, overwriting an existing catalog, all
            • existing services are deleted beforehand.

              Output
You are informed of whether copying was successful or not.

              Example
You want to manipulate the service catalog TK using the programRNUKARE02. Proceed as follows:

              • Create a copy of the catalog TK with the program RNUKACP0; name the
              • copy, for example, BK.
                • Execute the program RNUKARE2 on your original catalog TK.

                • Check whether the changes to the catalog TK were made as required. If
                • this is not the case, execute the program RNUKACP0 again, however thistime with BK as the source service catalog and TK as the targetcatalog. In this case, select Overwrite existing catalog(enabled).
