The report creates the statistics S 4 - Key Figures of the Departmentsrequired by the Federal Regulation for Hospitals (Germany).

Precondition

If you want the movements, which have a nursing assignment to anorganizational unit with intensive care indicators, to be assigned tothe specialty "Intensive care medicine", please choose the option inquestion.

Output
Only such specialties are output where at least one of the requiredfigures was also incurred. The numbers of the organizational unitsbelonging to a specialty are output if they differ from the numbers ofthe entire specialty.

Bed capacity figures are always mean values.

The following bed capacity figures are output for eachspecialty/organizational unit:
the total number of planned beds,
the total number of set up beds, as well as
the number these which are intensive care beds.
Patient census figures
To which specialty the movement of a case is assigned depends on whichspecialty the organizational unit has according to the FederalRegulation for Hospitals, to which the movement has a departmentalassignment.

Rate of capacity utilization of the beds
The rate of capacity utilization of the set up beds results from thefollowing formula:

Number of cases
The number of cases of a specialty/organizational unit results from thearithmetic mean of arrivals and departures from or to thespecialty/organizational unit.
On institution level, arrivals are admissions to the hospital(including admissions from external hospitals) and departures aredischarges from the hospital (including deaths and transfers toexternal hospitals).
