Receive type for gateway work processes Parameter description
This parameter determines whether the gateway work processes are to workin "poll" mode. The GW work processes are usually blocked during theexecution of a CMRCV call (receive data) until the data or statusinformation has been received. GW work processes can therefore beblocked for a long time, depending on the application. In poll mode, theGW work processes check at a fixed time interval whether data or statusinformation has been received for a connection. This means the GW workprocesses are free to perform other tasks in the meantime, and a higherlevel of parallelism is achieved.
The CPU requirement of the GW work processes is higher due to thepolling. We recommend that you use poll mode if a large number ofconnections are to be created, or if the response time of the individualapplications differs significantly.
