In cases where production variances in SAP are settled into Financial Accounting, a functionality issue occurs where no profitability segment is assigned automatically, thus resulting in missing line items in costing-based profitability analysis with record type B. For systems post Release 4.6, ensure account-based profitability analysis is active alongside the usage of price difference accounts as cost elements to automatically generate the required data. A modification is provided which facilitates the transfer of profitability segments to the accounting document interface when only costing-based analysis is active, necessitating updates to value field assignments in Transaction KEI2. Caution is advised with system testing prior to production use.
