This SAP Note addresses a defect in the conversion of planned orders to production or process orders within APO and R/3, leading to duplicated components especially when handling by-products or co-products. The issue originates from the reassignment of temporary line item numbers post transfer to APO, preventing appropriate mapping. The resolution involves altering the source code to ensure component assignments in APO use the BOM item instead of the external R/3 key. Modifications also include updating the interfaces of /SAPAPO/RRP_APPEND_COMPONENTS and /SAPAPO/RRP_APPEND_OUTPUTS with an additional optional parameter IV_MAP_BOMID_ONLY. Implementation of SAP Note 419958 is recommended for complete resolution.
