When switching to Excel view in ALV, users may encounter an error message SAP_OM.XLS or a NO_VALID_DOCUMENT exception due to missing templates in non-000 clients. This issue originates from templates not being copied when a client copy is performed without the SAP_ALL profile. To resolve, users can reference SAP Note 803067, ensuring automatic loading of SAP standard templates from client 000, thus eliminating the manual copying requirement. Alternatively, the BCALV_BDS_IMPORT_SAP_TEMPLATE report can be used to manually import the templates SAP_OM.XLS and SAP_MM.XLS from client 000, though this method does not validate the presence of templates prior to importing.
