Starting from Release 4.5, SAP introduced the table CE4XXXX_ACCT for each operating concern (XXXX) in CO-PA to hold extended account assignment data. Earlier releases utilized CE4XXXX table solely for storing profitability segments, but certain configurations in Transaction KEQ3 led to data losses in segment determination and excessive segment generation affecting performance. CE4XXXX_ACCT now captures comprehensive details, ensuring only essential data is held in CE4XXXX, improving performance and data integrity when dealing with segment numbers, index efficiency, and realignment processes within profitability analysis applications.
