SAP Note identifies an issue where posting to CO from external accounting leads to substantial data volume due to numerous line items and totals records for reconciliation objects, notably from billing documents linked to profitability segments. This increases database tables COSM and COEP significantly. The root is traced back to non-active account-based profitability analysis and the accounting practices from Release 3.0. A solution is offered through potential data volume reduction via document summarization (Notes 147766 and 195480 refer), or deactivation of reconciliation object updates under specific conditions. Implementation of an attached program change is advised for the latter resolution.
