Diagnosis
To generate a DataSource or an InfoCube, various pieces of informationare required from the components participating in the data transfer.

• For generation of the DataSource, the structure name for the read
interface has to be provided by the journal (as data source).

• For generation of the DataSource, details about how the data is to be
displayed in the InfoCube have to be defined by the receiving view.

• For generation of the InfoCube, details of the characteristics and key
figures required have to be provided by the using view.
With the menu function, you have requested this information from one ofthe two components. The component has not provided therequested information.

System Response
It is neither necessary nor useful to generate a DataSource or anInfoCube.

Procedure
Clear up this problem in the queried components and try to request theinformation again.

If the journal is not active, activate it:Activate Components in the Data Basis
If no variants have yet been defined as active in the Profit ManagementView, set up a variant. Note that theProfit Management View cannot be activated without consistent dataretention metadata.
