Summary :
When executing a query in SAP BW 3.x, the authorization check fails to include colons (':') for characteristics used both as navigation attributes and standard ones. This behavior, adherent to the release's design, affects how characteristics, such as A, and their navigation overlaps, like B__A, are treated during authorization stages primarily in aggregation scenarios. To address this, users of BW 3.0B should import Support Package 15 (SAPKW30B15) and for BW 3.1C, Support Package 9 (SAPKW31C09) respectively, as detailed in SAP Notes 571698 and 571720. Correction instructions via SNOTE or manual implementation are alternatives if patches cannot be immediately applied.
