SAP Note 1055588 - Upgrade to SCM 5.X or SCM 7.0 and Unicode conversion

Component : liveCache Applications - liveCache

Solution : https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1055588 (SAP Service marketplace login required)

Summary :
When upgrading to SCM 5.0, SCM 5.1, or SCM 7.0 while simultaneously converting a non-Unicode system to Unicode, follow the SAP-provided upgrade guide. Begin with the SCM upgrade, ensuring liveCache is updated during the REQ_LCUPG phase, skipping all steps tied to Unicode in section C initially. After completing the upgrade, proceed with the Unicode conversion using SAP's guidelines, avoiding duplicate steps for liveCache data management. Set the "_UNICODE" parameter to "YES" in SCM 5.X or appropriately set "DefaultCodePage" to UNICODE in SCM 7.0. Initialize the liveCache ensuring that no reprocessing reports risk data integrity. Complete all necessary steps of section C, then run /SAPAPO/OM_LC_UPGRADE_X to finalize the upgrade process. Also, see related SAP Notes for known issues.
